Hello, all!
Here are a few important items to remember:
If you'd like your child to make corrections on returned classwork, please have your child make the corrections on the returned page in a DIFFERENT color. Students are welcome to make corrections to tests and quizzes, but I will not change the score. However, I will give half credit back for corrections made on classwork. Remember to check the math, literacy, and homeroom tab for more specific information regarding the upcoming week. Thanks for all your support! Welcome back! I hope you all had a relaxing long weekend.
Picture day is approaching next week! When the time comes, ensure your child is in their typical school uniform. Aspire is updated. Please check your child's grade regularly. Please reach out to me with any comments or concerns if need be. In addition, take a few minutes each night to look through your child's BEE folder with your child. It is GREAT practice to fix any errors that were made on class work at home. I am also more than willing to give half credit back if your child does those corrections. Self-correction is a great way to bridge any deficits in learning. I'm looking for another parent volunteer to make master copies of the literacy family letter for each week of the school year. If you are interested in coming into school to help, please sign up for the volunteer slot on sign up genius here! Hello, Families!
Students are still missing scissors. Please ask your child if he or she has a pair of scissors. We use scissors every week, so it is very important that your child has this tool! Dollar Dress Down Days are discontinued. Please ensure your child comes to school each day with their appropriate uniform. Visit our dress code here if you are unsure of student uniform requirements. I am in search of an at-home volunteer! The job entails formatting spelling words on a google doc for me. This opportunity is available for sign up under the "how to help" tab above. It is a fairly simple task and I will give you more details after you've signed up. In about 2 weeks, I will be asking for parent volunteers to join our classroom and read with our students 1-on-1 to improve oral reading skills. Be on the lookout for this volunteer opportunity if you are interested! It will be found in the "how to help" tab above. If you are a person who plans ahead, I will be looking for parents to volunteer game ideas for our Halloween party! I know Halloween decorations are already out in stores, so I thought I'd give you the idea early. :) Thank you for attending the Back to School Night information session if you were able to! If you have further questions, please send me an email.

Please recall that our classroom will not be using individual supply boxes. We are trying community supplies this year! However, each student needs his or her own scissors and headphones. Please ensure your child has those two items. Hello! My name is Ms. Hansen and this is my second year teaching at Wasatch Peak Academy. I am thrilled to meet new students and families this year! This is my third year teaching; two years ago I taught first grade in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have. I look forward to a positive and learning-filled year with your child! How to use Ms. Hansen's WebsiteI will update my website weekly. Every Monday by 5 pm I will update this website with literacy, math, and homeroom curriculum. This will suffice for a weekly email. You can view these weekly updates under the "Class Info" tab at the top of this page. Then, choose which class you would like to view. Important weekly information can be found on this homepage, too!
